3.          atha  tena  prasarpatā   parvatabhikharākāra:  mahāvarāha:  samāsādita:

            there-upon    by-that   moving   moutain-summit-peak

            great-boar     was-encountered

 

4.         tam  dŗşţvā  karņa-antākŗşţa-śareņa  sa: tena  samāhata:

          him   having-seen    by-ear-end-draw-arrow   he  by-that  was-wounded

 

5.         tenāpi varāheņa  kopāvişţena  vālendu-dyutinā  damşţragreņa

     and  with-that   by-boar   filled-with-anger

     with-young-moon-brulliant(tusk)  with-tusk

      here and there     wandered-about   the place     came

 

8.         yāvat   varāha-pulindau  paśyati ,  tāvat  prahŗśţa:  acittayat

        as-soon-as   boar-Pulinda  he-sees,  so-long  rejoicing   considered

 

9.          bho:  sa anukūla:  me  vidhi:

       alas,       favorable    my   fate

 

10.     tena  etat  acintitam  bhojanam  upasthitam

             with-that   this   unimaginable    meal     made-avaliable

 

11.     tat  aham  tathā  bhakşayāmi

       that   i    (that much) in-that-way    eat

 

          yathā  bahūnyahāni  me  prāņayātrā  bhavati

         as   many-days     my   support-of-life           is

 

12.     tat  tāvat  prathamam  snāyu-pāśam

      that   as-soon-as   first   bow-string-tendon-cord

 

         dhanus-koţi-gatam bhakşayāmi

             bow-tip-gone      i-eat

 

13.    evam  mansā  niścatya  dhanu-koţim

    thus   by-mind   having-determined   bow-tim

 

  mukhe  kşiptvā  snāyum  bhakşayitum  ārabdha:

            in-mouth    having-thrown   bow-string   to-partake-eat  took-up

 

14.     tata:  ca   kartite  snāya:  tālu  vidārya

            and thence   cut   bow-string    palate    having-torn-open

 

       dhanuş-koţi:  mastakamadyena  nişkrāntā

             bow-tip      through-the-middle-of-head       went-out

 

15.     sa:  api  mŗta:

             he    also     died
